Escape Rooms
Why should humans have all the fun?
Escape Rooms are not just for people! Jack Fenton from the Dorset Dog Trainer and I have created a series of fun competitions set up as Escape Rooms.
Your dog has to sniff out hides and then you have to find clues that help you escape.
We search a variety of venues and are always looking for bigger, more exciting venues to search!
You and your dog can search individually or as part of a team.
At the end of each year we’ll announce the winners of the league. We keep track of points for both individual and team leagues so you can win as a team of you and your dog or as part of a much bigger squad!
What you need to know
- Suitable for any dog, be they young, old, any breed. Dogs who need space can be catered for but must be safe to work around myself and Jack
- We provide gun oil, clove or KONG hides
- You're welcome to search for other scents but you must provide your own hides
- Any safe indication accepted
- Dogs and handlers of any experience welcome, you can turn your searches into a training opportunity at any point if you feel your dog needs help
- Search areas thus far have included a pet shop, football club, and Poole park
- You're very welcome to watch and attend all searches after your own - you can't watch until you've completed your searches though as otherwise you'll know where the hides are!
- You get a 15 minute search slot to compete in
- Teams are told the search areas and can pick which dog and handler pairing to work each search so you can play to the strengths of everyone on the team
