Enrichment
Ever wish your dog was just a bit... Less?
Want more of this?

And less of this?

If it ever feels like your dog is just being a bit much and could do with being a little bit less then enrichment is a really simple way to add something to your dog’s day that makes them a little less but without you having to put in lots of effort!
Enrichment really is suitable for any dog, young or old, pug or German shepherd, family dog or a one person household.
If you’re ready to take simple steps to change your dog’s behaviour then join the Enrichment Course below!
This course is for:
- Nervous dogs who need to improve their confidence at their pace with no pressure
- Puppies who have manic moments where their inner velociraptor comes out
- Dogs with behaviour problems who would benefit from enrichment to aid decompression and confidence building
- Adolescent dogs who are finding life a bit tough
- Older dogs who need to use it or lose it when it comes to their ability to problem solve and keep their brains active
- Dogs who are ill, injured, on a period of rest, recovering from an operation or who need the odd rest day to help manage sore joints
- Family members who have a busy time at work coming up
- Families who are welcoming a new two legged addition and are anticipating some changes in routine
- Families whose younger members are sitting exams whilst the rest of the household is working on supporting them
- Families who would love a great way to entertain both children and dogs during the school holidays!
- Families who have a big gathering such as Christmas coming up and need to help the dog adjust with the volume of changes and minimise behavioural concerns like chewing things they shouldn't, jumping up at guests and generally being a nice member of the family to be included
- Families who want to take their dog anywhere and everywhere with them, whilst at home or on holidays both staycations and otherwise
Does your nervous dog do any of the following
- Too nervous to leave the house, either consistently or they sometimes go and sometimes they won't
- Fearful of people entering your house
- Scared of new things, in the house or outside of the house
- Startles when things make a noise or move quickly
- Jumps, or otherwise reacts to, every day noises or surprise noises
- Injured themselves or had a period of time at the vets where their confidence has dipped and they need to increase their confidence again in a way that won't impede their injury further?
Does your Puppy dog any of the following
- Have manic moments where you question if you bought a puppy or a dinosaur and nothing in sight is safe from those razor sharp teeth
- Constantly target things they shouldn't be getting into, no matter what you do to try and avoid this
- Get bored of activities quickly when you try to encourage them into an activity you like
- Really struggle to settle down to sleep
- Struggle to focus on any training you do for longer than 30 seconds
- Struggle to sleep for as long as you would like
- Get bored of the toys you've bought them
- Injured themselves and need a period of rest (what can feel like a nightmare for a puppy owner!) and you've got no idea how you're going to keep them still and steady
Does your Reactive dog any of the following
- Struggle to relax at home, constantly listening for something to react to
- Constantly watch out of windows looking for any marauders (otherwise known as innocent passersby!)
- Pay close attention to the routines of posties and delivery drivers, ready to tell them where they can go in no uncertain terms
- Create so much noise that any visitors who enter feel the need to check the number of digits they leave with
- Become a completely different creature as soon as the front door opens, going from the sweetest most angelic dog inside to a Tasmanian devil lookalike upon seeing a person, dog or innocent leaf floating down from a tree
- Take a long time to calm down after something sets them off
- Struggle to sniff either when out on walks or in the garden
- Stress out very easily as a result of daily activities
- Struggle with busy periods in your household when lots of change occurs
- Become more reactive when they're painful and need activities to help keep their brains occupied whilst they recover
Does your Adolescent dog any of the following
- Seemingly forget everything you have taught them previously - in fact, they look like they've never had a day's training in their lives before
- Sniff EVERYTHING, almost overnight their noses switched on and their ears switched off
- Makes you feel like they're pushing every boundary you ever implemented, in the house or outside of it. Suddenly they're jumping on kitchen counters, tables, stealing food, chewing things (again! You thought you were past that stage!) and getting into all of the things that you thought you had taught them they weren't allowed to get into
- Struggle to settle down and sleep like they used to
- Started barking at you, at noises, or at things they can see going past your house. It's almost like they've discovered their voice and all of a sudden decided they love it
- Take a long time to calm down after something sets them off
- They might have started to become a bit reactive towards other dogs and/or people where previously they were perfectly friendly
- Despite their ears still be visible they appear to have completely stopped functioning or only function as and when your adolescent feels like using them rather than whenever you ask them for something
- Feel a bit distant from you, perhaps like the relationship is changing from that wonderful puppy stage and you feel a bit disconnected from them
- Injured themselves and require additional decompression to help them dampen down any undesirable behaviours AND need to stay as still as possible for a period of time
Does your Aging dog any of the following
- Seem less engaged with things that they would have done previously
- Struggle with their mobility and therefore get less physical enrichment than they did previously
- Seem to be losing their memory of certain things
- Display none of the above, but you want to slow the onset and potential development of any of the above and know that enrichment is a brilliant way to prevent doggy dementia
- Need something to keep their brain occupied whilst they recover from a period of soreness or adjust to less exercise as a result of a physical concern
Does Your life Feel at all like the following
- Your dog's behaviour makes life at home hard, even if only because you feel you're constantly managing your dog
- You want your dog to have more freedom in the house and the capacity to trust that they won't get into anything they shouldn't
- You dread anyone turning up at the door, be it just a simple delivery or someone coming into the house because your dog goes so wild
- You feel embarrassed by your dog's behaviour
- That some consistency in your dog's behaviour would bring you some huge relief on a day to day basis
- Sometimes you look at your dog and you just don't know what to do to help them or alleviate something that they're doing
- You've got a busy period at work and you're worried about how you're going to fit everything in
- You've got a baby on the way or they've arrived and you and/or your dog are struggling with the adjustment and finding balance
- You have really limited time and you need activities that are going to give you huge bang for the time you spent on them
- Your children have exams coming up and you need to be supporting them until they're over and focusing on the dog less as a result
- You're looking down the barrel of long school holidays wondering how on earth you're going to keep the children and the dog entertained whilst also having time to do the things being an adult requires
- You've got a period of change coming up and you're concerned about how your dog will react to the stress induced by the changes
